Been busy organizing a Fall Cleanup/Planting/Seeding event at the Cahuenga Library. Six months after our Big Sunday beautification event, we’ve come to spruce up and expand the garden a little more. We’ll have a simpler event, with a smaller volunteer pool, but hopefully just as great of a result nevertheless.
Plus, I finally finished editing the video from our Big Sunday event in May. Enjoy!
I’m sorry I missed this, but I hope to make the clean up next month. Reporting the bulky items dumped along that block of Madison and Lyman has been a project of mine the past few months. Given the constant stream of abandoned couches, it sometimes feels futile.
For whatever reason they rarely pick up the trash dumped on that alley that runs btw Westmoreland and Lyman when I report it.
Hi Amanda –
Thanks for reading my blog! But even more thanks for calling in the bulky items! It might seem futile, but I’ve been noticing less and less of them the past few months! So your good deeds don’t go unnoticed. I would also encourage you to get your neighbors to call in the bulky items as well, so it’s not just a burden on you.
As for the alley trash, I would strongly recommend you contact the Hollywood Beautification Team and get their regular cleanup crews to add that to their assignments. They paint out graffiti in the building across Lyman from the library fairly often, so just let them know that they can clean up the alley as well. You can email them at hbteam@earthlink.net.
We look forward to having you join us at our next Cahuenga Library mini-cleanup on December 4!
